Info and news about the website (icelanderuptions.com)

As you probably know, the website icelanderuptions.com is an aggregation of information about the events in Iceland, concerning Bárðarbunga, Holuhraun and everything connected.

All of the information on the website is gathered from different sources, so you can imagine that some of the graphs, webcam images or feeds are not always available and subject to change.

We try as much as we can to keep all info actual and (auto-)updated, but we trust you have understanding for some hiccups every now and again.

In this topic we will keep track of the graphs which are - temporarily - not being updated or not available.

Re: Info and news about the website (icelanderuptions.com)

We temporarily had to take out the GPS graph of the Bárðarbunga caldera.

The Icelandic Met Office says:

IMO wrote:

Since 23 Nov. no signal received. The most likely explanation is that the station has subsided below the caldera rim and is therefore out of sight of the relay station in Kverkfjöll.

For days IMO is trying to get the GPS up and running again, but due to the bad weather (storm and blizzards) up to now they still didn't had a chance to do so.

Some of the drum plots and tremor graphs are not updated by IMO since a few days, probably due to bad weather.

Like this one from Vonaskarð:

The Caldera GPS graph is back on the web page. Let's hope it stays OK for a while.

Most of the drum plots are still not being updated.

Re: Info and news about the website (icelanderuptions.com)

For a few days now, our hosting provider has some problems with several servers. This causes downtime for our website every now and again.
The provider is going to move the servers physically to another location, which should solve the problem.

This migration of the servers is going to take place this friday, January 9 between 20:30 UTC and 01:00 UTC next morning.
During this period the website is likely to have downtime.

At the moment we are trying to find a temporary solution to avoid this downtime, but we don't know if that's going to work.
